A new facility producing a recently developed 'wonderfuel' is to be officially unveiled in Wales today.

FireDragon, a clean green cooking fuel made from sugar beet, will be produced at the Llangennech, Llanelli plant by BCB International, manufacturers of survival and protective equipment.

The facility, located at the town’s Stradey Business Park, will be operational from this morning when the ribbon is cut by Welsh economy minister Edwina Hart AM, helping to meet demand from clients in the military, camping and leisure markets.

“FireDragon is a must have item for any outdoor enthusiast who want to save time, money and help protect the environment at the same time,” said Phillipe Minchin, PR and media manager at BCB International, whose clients include the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

“Tests have shown that FireDragon can boil 500 ml of water in 5 minutes; that’s over two minutes faster than similar products.  It is waterproof, lightweight and can be packed with food,” he added.
