On November 3, Woodward Inc. officially broke ground on its new aerospace manufacturing facility at Smith Farms Industrial Park in Greer, Spartanburg County, South Carolina, an exciting step toward a 300,000-square-foot plant designed for industry-leading manufacturing and future growth.

When complete, the facility is expected to create approximately 275 jobs.

Around 50 guests joined the celebration, including representatives from Spartanburg County and the City of Greer. Speakers included Shawn McLevige, Aerospace President; Colin Rorabaugh, Program Manager for the new operation; and Spartanburg County Council Chairman A. Manning Lynch. The event wrapped with the traditional “gold shovel” photo, with several members of the company’s leadership team and development partners.
