Wrightbus International has won a fourth consecutive contract worth £30m from the Singapore-based public transport operator, SBS Transit.

The agreement, in association with partner Volvo Bus, will see the companies jointly supplying 415 double decker buses to be supplied and packaged in complete knocked down (CKD) kits from the company’s Ballymena plant in Northern Ireland, and shipped to Singapore to be assembled.

The contract will run over a three-year period.

Since 2010, a total of 1,015 similar vehicles have already entered service with SBS Transit. The latest order is based on Volvo Bus’s B9TL chassis.

Wrightbus Inernational, the international arm of Wrights Group, manufactures a wide-range of buses for an international market, most notably London’s new Routemaster.
