How to Successfully Implement a Transformation Project | Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit

On the first day of our Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit, we were joined by Nigel Paine, Vice President of Production at Carlsberg Britvic, just before his panel discussion – Beyond the Tech: Building a Culture that Supports Digital Transformation.

Nigel has driven change in his company, and spoke to us in the build up to this event about how food & beverage manufacturers must make sustainability central to operations.

He discusses the drivers to ensuring successful transformation projects, in both sustainability and technology. He talks to us about the challenges, similarities, and offers his advice to businesses on a similar journey.

The panel discussion he took part in at Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit explored how culture, leadership, and communication shape the success (or failure) of digital transformation in manufacturing.

Along with Sharon Lloyd of Oxford Gene Technology, and Kayode Adisa of Fine Lady Bakeries, he explained:

  • The most common cultural barriers to transformation and how can they be addressed
  • Bringing frontline teams along on the digital journey without fear or friction
  • The role leadership should play in shaping and sustaining a digital-first mindset?

Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit 2025

Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit is the annual gathering of the industrial elite.

Leaders, senior executives and decision-makers representing all industries across the manufacturing sector converge with thought leaders and industrial futurists for two days of knowledge-sharing, debate and discussion that shapes the industry for the coming 12 months.

Now in its 17th year, the award-winning Summit is a catalyst for transformation, covering the topics most pertinent to manufacturing leaders alongside economic and market factors, operational challenges and organisation challenges.

This year’s Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit was once again an event with amplified focus on practical solutions and industry-leading insights, the highest calibre of speakers, more case studies and interactive sessions with polls, more networking opportunities and deeper dives into the technologies shaping the future of the sector.

We will be posting videos from a handful of keynote speakers and roundtable discussion hosts from this year’s event, so keep a look out for more insights over the next few weeks.
