PressureFab Group, designer and manufacturer of specialist rig topside and subsea equipment, has completed a £1m investment package to upgrade its facility in Dundee, Scotland.

The two-year programme, consisted of upgrading existing manufacturing capabilities and implementing CNC Oil-tool machinery for precision production of drilling and subsea related oil-tooling.

The new CNC machining facilities will supplement PressureFab’s medium and heavy subsea equipment fabrication, providing a more diverse and complete product line. The company also improved its corrosion protection services by upgrading its industrial coating and shotblasting facilities.

These additions have already created more than 25 new jobs, bringing the workforce to over 100 highly skilled trades people, and will enable PressureFab Group to improve productivity with an aim to double capacity and production output.

Hermann Twickler, managing director of PressureFab Group, said: “The upgrade has transformed the Dundee based facility into one of the most technologically advanced steel manufacturing and industrial coating businesses in Scotland.

“I am confident that it will enable the PressureFab Group to take advantage of future demands from the oil and gas industry, as well as the emerging renewable energy sector.”

“I am really thankful for the continued support, in both professional and monetary terms that we receive from the Scottish government.”

In support of this investment, the major supplier of specialty topside and subsea equipment was awarded a Regional Selective Assistance grant from Scottish Enterprise.
