Luxury carmaker Aston Martin is to create 250 new jobs after announcing plans to invest £20m in extending its Warwickshire manufacturing facility.
In a company statement released today, Aston Martin said the new jobs in engineering, manufacturing and commercial areas will be created over the next few months.
The automotive firm also confirmed preparations towards extending its manufacturing facilities in Gaydon are at an advanced stage, as it prepares for its next generation of new sports cars.
As part of plans to increase its workforce and extend manufacturing capabilities, Gaydon will house a facility to build prototypes, new offices, and a bigger parts storage area.
After work on the development is completed by 2015, facilities will cover an extra 10,000 square metres.
Aston Martin chief financial officer, Hanno Kirner said: “The investment in our Gaydon HQ forms part of our long-term strategy which is focused around being the number one British luxury sports car brand.”
