A number of UK companies were awarded by ADS at Farnborough last week for their efforts to raise the performance of their supply chains.
Supply Chain 21 is a change programme run by ADS and designed to boost the competitiveness of the aerospace and defence industry in the UK by improving the way its supply chains work.
The winner of the Gold Award was global defence logistics expert Wincanton Houndstone, while Silver Award winners included organisations such as Darchem Insulation, Groveley Precision, Axiom Manufacturing Services and Moyola Precision Engineering, which became the first Northern Ireland company to be awarded a SC21 Silver Award.
Arlene Foster MLA, enterprise minister of Northern Ireland, said: “This SC21 silver award recognises the significant work Moyola has undertaken in focusing on business and manufacturing excellence and building strong customer relationships. This formal acknowledgement of Moyola’s capabilities positions the firm as one of the leading aerospace companies not just in Northern Ireland but across the UK.”
In order to receive the silver award, a company must achieve delivery success rates between 95% and 99% and quality rates between 99.5% and 99.9%.
