Anheuser-Busch has announced a $600m investment in its US operations across 2025 and 2026, reinforcing its long-term commitment to domestic manufacturing and workforce development.

The investment, part of the company’s Brewing Futures initiative, will focus on strengthening production capabilities, expanding technical training and improving career pathways—particularly for veterans—across its nationwide footprint.

Manufacturing investment targets jobs and capacity

The brewer, known for brands including Budweiser, Bud Light, Michelob ULTRA and Busch Light, said the funding will support both job creation and the long-term sustainability of its US manufacturing base.

The $600m commitment builds on more than 165 years of domestic investment and is positioned as a continuation of efforts to modernise facilities while maintaining employment across its breweries and supply chain operations.

Focus on skills and next-generation workforce

A central pillar of the programme is workforce development, with Anheuser-Busch planning to open 15 new technical skills training centres at facilities across the US. These centres will be complemented by partnerships with trade schools aimed at equipping workers with practical manufacturing skills.

The initiative reflects a broader industry push to address skills shortages while creating more structured career pathways within manufacturing.

Veteran employment pathways expanded

The company is also placing a renewed emphasis on supporting veterans transitioning into civilian careers, with targeted programmes designed to connect former and current service members with roles in manufacturing.

This aligns with wider efforts across the sector to tap into the skills and experience of military personnel to strengthen the industrial workforce.

Industry backing for investment

Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, said the investment underlines the company’s long-term commitment to US manufacturing.

“Anheuser-Busch’s $600m investment is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the future of American manufacturing. By strengthening our manufacturing operations, we are creating sustainable careers—not just jobs—and investing in the people who are vital to our success.”

– Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch.

Whitworth added that the new training centres would help “build the next generation of manufacturing leaders” while opening up opportunities for veterans entering the private sector.

National Association of Manufacturers president and CEO Jay Timmons welcomed the move, highlighting its broader impact on the sector.

“Anheuser-Busch’s expanded investment is a commitment to the American worker and the future of our nation’s strength in manufacturing. These local technical skills training centers and partnerships with trade schools will transform careers and enable the manufacturing workforce of today and tomorrow to develop the critical skills they need.”

Long-term signal for US manufacturing

The announcement positions Anheuser-Busch as one of the latest major manufacturers to double down on domestic investment, particularly in skills and workforce infrastructure.

With labour shortages and skills gaps continuing to challenge the sector, the company’s combined focus on capital investment, training and veteran employment reflects a more holistic approach to sustaining US manufacturing competitiveness.
