The Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC) has announced that its Technology Developer Accelerator Programme (TDAP) has been awarded Accelerator of the Year by the UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA).

The UKBAA annual award ceremony, which took place at the Science Museum on the 3rd of July, recognises the outstanding achievements of early-stage investors and the businesses they back, the Accelerator of the Year category recognises the organisation with the most dynamic and innovative programme of support for early-stage founders.

The TDAP programme earned this award due to the unique way it supports start-ups, spinouts and innovative SMEs at the very start of their journey, giving them the essential tools to help bring their pioneering, disruptive technologies to market, from proof of concept to commercial reality, establishing profitable and sustainable UK businesses, enriching the zero-emission supply chain and ensuring UK technology remains an attractive investment opportunity.

Since its inception in 2015, TDAP is proud to have helped over 100 companies raise nearly £300 million, with founding boards fully representative of the UK’s rich and diverse academic and business community.

Josh Denne, Head of SME Programmes, APC, said: “TDAP’s unique formula of mentorship, networking, investor exposure and relationship building, is deliberately designed to increase a founder’s potential to commercialise their innovative technology, become investment-ready and successfully scale their business. APC’s relationship with UKBAA has been essential to the programme as together we create attractive opportunities for the UK angel investor community and grow the UK’s zero-emission supply chain.”
