Audi set its 63rd consecutive sales record in the US for March with 18,392 vehicles sold, an increase of 7.5% over the same period last year.
Year-to-date sales increased 4.6% to 41,960 vehicles sold. March also marked the fifth best sales month ever for the brand in the US market.
“Customer response to our newly-designed models, like the all-new A4 and Q7, has bolstered sales, a sign of more good things to come,” said Mark Del Rosso, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America. “This spring will bring another landmark launch when the next-generation R8 supercar arrives at our Audi dealerships.”
Sales of the German-made luxury vehicles were supported by the all-new Audi A4, the best-selling sedan in the Audi line-up, with an increase of 42.4% to 3,226 vehicles sold. The Audi A4 features semi-autonomous driving features and the Audi virtual cockpit, which combines multimedia functions with a conventional instrument cluster into one 12.3-inch LCD display.
Consumer interest in Audi luxury SUVs continued to climb with both the Q7 and Q3 posting new record highs. Sales of the Audi Q7 soared 92.6% to 3,004 vehicles sold for the month, as buyers responded positively to a new design. Additionally, the 2017 Q7 earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Sales of the Audi Q3 rose 18.7% to 1,505 vehicles.
Audi Certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles also set a new March sales record, with a 9.5% gain and 4,251 vehicles sold.
