Bentley Motors has introduced a new line of electrostatic discharge (ESD) compliant workwear at its Crewe facility, as the luxury carmaker prepares for the launch of its first battery electric vehicle later this year.
Designed specifically for use in electrostatic protected areas, the “Dream Factory” workwear aims to prevent the build-up of static electricity that could damage sensitive electronic and battery components, an increasingly critical requirement as automotive production shifts towards electrification.
The new garments incorporate carbon fibre elements engineered to safely dissipate static while maintaining durability, flexibility and comfort for employees working across production environments. The move represents a key step in ensuring both safety and precision in EV manufacturing processes.
Bentley said the collection has been developed around four core principles: co-created, future-focused, inclusive and high-tech, resulting in a wide range of fits and sizing options tailored to its diverse workforce. The designs also integrate health and safety features while supporting mobility across different roles on the factory floor.
Visually, the workwear reflects Bentley’s evolving design language, with updated silhouettes and refined detailing intended to mirror the craftsmanship and premium aesthetic associated with the brand’s vehicles. The unified look across roles is designed to reinforce a modern, technical identity aligned with the company’s broader transformation.
Sustainability has also been embedded into the programme, with responsibly sourced materials, partnerships with vetted suppliers, and production processes aimed at reducing waste. Bentley confirmed that a dedicated recycling scheme will ensure the garments avoid landfill at end of life, with materials repurposed to support a more circular manufacturing approach.
The initiative forms part of Bentley’s wider strategy to redefine its operations as it transitions towards electric mobility, demonstrating how even operational elements such as workwear can contribute to environmental goals and next-generation manufacturing standards.
