World first, multi-million manufacturing OMNIFACTORY opens at the University of Nottingham
A new £3.8m facility that will revolutionise the world of manufacturing, making it more efficient and cost-effective, has opened at the University of Nottingham.
The state-of-the-art OMNIFACTORY, a concept factory where different digital technologies are implemented to improve traditional manufacturing practices, was officially opened on Wednesday 1 March 2023 by Brian Holliday, Managing Director at Siemens Digital Industries and Co-Chair of the Made Smarter Commission, with a keynote contribution from George Freeman MP, Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation. Rolls-Royce has begun testing F130 engines for the United States Air Force B-52 fleet
Rolls-Royce has announced it has launched F130 engine testing at the company’s outdoor test facility at the NASA Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, U.S.
Rolls-Royce F130 engines were selected by the United States Air Force to replace the existing powerplants in the B-52 fleet, with over 600 new engine deliveries expected. This milestone test program is the first time F130 engines have been tested in the dual-pod engine configuration of the B-52 aircraft. Each B-52 aircraft has eight engines in four pods. East Lancs homeware manufacturer announces major new acquisition
East Lancashire plastic houseware manufacturer What More UK have announced the acquisition of West Midland’s based firm Firsteel Ltd.
What More UK is one of the largest houseware manufacturers in the UK behind the brand ‘Wham’ which is available in every major UK supermarket and 1600 independent retailers.
