Newry’s Around Noon to open sixth UK manufacturing site | News in Newry
Around Noon, the fast-growing food-to-go (FTG) manufacturer, is set to open a major new factory at Slough Trading Estate near London and will create up to 200 new jobs as part of an investment plan announced today.

Air France and Airbus in exclusive negotiations to create a JV for A350 component support
Air France-KLM and Airbus today announced that Air France SA (“Air France”) and Airbus SAS (“Airbus”) have entered into exclusive negotiations to establish a joint venture for the provision on a worldwide basis of Airbus A350 component maintenance services (supply chain management, repairs, creation of a worldwide pool of aircraft components).
The envisaged cooperation would take the form of a 50-50 joint venture between Air France and Airbus and involve the transfer of aircraft components assets belonging to both partners into the joint venture’s pool. Find out more at Airbus
Ricardo supports Toyota with launch of its first UK-based prototype hydrogen light commercial vehicle
Following support from Ricardo, Toyota, alongside the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC), has successfully launched this innovative hydrogen prototype for the UK light commercial vehicles market.

BorgWarner’s scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reduction targets validated by the SBTi
BorgWarner announced today that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated its targets to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 85% by 2030 from a 2021 base year, and to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions 25% by 2030 from a 2021 base year.
BorgWarner submitted its Scope 1, 2 and 3 near-term targets for validation to the SBTi in December 2022. Since then, BorgWarner has accelerated its target for Scope 3 emissions reduction of 25% from 2031 to 2030 in alignment with SBTi’s latest guidelines for a well-below 2°C pathway. QinetiQ, Inzpire and BAE Systems deliver next synthetic training concept demonstration to the Royal Navy
A team from QinetiQ, Inzpire and BAE Systems has delivered a further demonstration under Phase 2 of the Platform Enabled Training Capability (PETC) to the Royal Navy.
Delivered in late June, the complex synthetic collective training demonstration was operated from Portsdown Technology Park delivering training to three platforms docked at HM Naval Base in Portsmouth: HMS KENT, HMS DIAMOND and HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH, operating together. Find out more at QinetiQ
