Applications are open for Sellafield Ltd’s new Digital and Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship.

UK’S first space degreee apprenticeship launched

BAE Systems and the University of Portsmouth have launched the UK’s first ever degree apprenticeship in Space Systems Engineering.

Applications are now open for the first intake of space degree apprentices who will be part of exciting projects such as Azalea, which is due to launch its first multi-sensor low earth orbit satellite cluster in 2025 to deliver intelligence in real-time to military customers. Solihull College & University Centre has been awarded £110,000 to develop its degree apprenticeship offer.

National Apprenticeship Week: construction’s popularity rises

Apprenticeship starts in construction, planning and the built environment increased sharply last year, demonstrating the popularity of the sector as a route for career progression.

New data from the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) shows that 33,610 apprentices started their training in construction during 2022/23 – rising significantly from 26,100 in 2021/22. More via Construction Management
