Aurrigo International starts autonomous baggage handling programme in Ohio
Aurrigo International has started its programme with International Airlines Group (IAG) at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) for the deployment and demonstration of its autonomous baggage tractor, Auto-DollyTug.
To mark the start of the partnership, the parties gathered at CVG, a leading airport in autonomous technology. “This relationship is an important milestone for us as it will be our first aviation operation in the US – a key target market. This year we will have our autonomous vehicles operating at airports in the UK, Europe, Asia and now the US, showing the clear demand there is in the aviation sector for our technology,” said Aurrigo CEO, Professor David Keene.

Tata Steel to shut down Port Talbot blast furnaces, putting 3,000 jobs at risk

Plant overhaul results in significant production improvements for St Gobain
The overhaul of an entire plant design and production line at Saint Gobain has resulted in increased capacity, the modernisation of an older production line design, speedier materials handling and reduced energy consumption.
Saint Gobain is a worldwide leader in light and sustainable construction materials. Since 1984, its Reynosa factory in Mexico has been involved in the manufacture and sale of solid and non-woven fibre abrasives (such as abrasive pads and wheels).

Great Tommy Sleep Out announces BAE Systems as headline sponsor
BAE Systems has announced its sponsorship of £30,000 to the Royal British Legion Industries’ (RBLI) annual flagship fundraising campaign, ‘The Great Tommy Sleep Out’.
The Great Tommy Sleep Out takes place in March and challenges individuals, groups and communities across the UK to brave a cold and potentially wet night to sleep out under the stars. The aim is to raise awareness and funds for the estimated 6,000 homeless veterans in the UK who face nights out exposed to the elements on a daily basis.

Part of the Rolls-Royce Future Talent programme, which also includes Internships and Graduate Placements, the Apprenticeship scheme has run every year since 2006 and is one of the most respected and prestigious of its kind in the UK.

Dyson manages succession
Dyson announces a leadership succession plan for the next chapter of the company’s growth.
Roland Krueger, Chief Executive Officer of Dyson for the past four years, will be appointed to a new Board role of Dyson Holdings, effective February 2024.
Hanno Kirner will join Dyson and will be appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Dyson, effective February 2024.
