Indian conglomerate Dhoot Transmission, which manufactures wiring harnesses, electronic sensors and controllers, automotive switches, power cords and more for OEMs, has announced it will build a new factory in the UK.
Dhoot Transmission’s international subsidiary, Parkinson Harness Technology, which currently rents two sites in Boston, Lincolnshire, is looking to bring UK operations together in Kirton, Lincolnshire. The proposed site at Kirton Distribution Park will comprise a single building with a gross floor area of 5,592 square metres, as well as an external canopy measuring 364 square metres. There will also be potential for future expansion.
At present, Parkinson Harness Technology employs 165 workers, but this number is expected to increase by 50 per cent in the first five years following the new site’s construction, due to the labour intensive nature of the firm’s manufacturing processes. In the same period, the company plans to double its turnover.
Maharashtra-headquartered Dhoot Transmission has been supplying UK and European specialist vehicle manufacturers for more than 20 years, and its bespoke facility in Kirton will add to its existing 23 sites which are spread across the globe, including locations in the UK, Slovakia, Thailand, Japan & South Korea, plus 18 in India.

Rahul Dhoot, Managing Director of Dhoot Transmission, said: “We are serving a large customer base stretched in eight countries across three continents. We are one of the most ‘in-demand’ companies globally for wiring solutions. The upcoming plant in Kirton, UK, will strengthen our global presence exponentially.”
