The British company has won an order worth in excess of £13m for over 250 of its machines from a Scottish plant hire business.
The order includes the new JCB X Series excavators as well as mini excavators, tracked excavators, site dumpers, backhoe loaders and compaction equipment.
The new JCB 220X is a 20-tonne tracked excavator model launched earlier this year. It is manufactured at JCB Heavy Products in Staffordshire.
The investment from Lomond Plant, which is based in Falkirk and offers hire services across the UK, is part of its expansion plans which has already seen growth in the North West of England and the Midlands, with a new depot in Yorkshire set to open.
JCB represents ‘Brand Britain’
This deal comes after Britain was named the fourth most valuable global brand in Brand Finance’s annual report.
Brand Britain remains strong according to the consultancy’s report, with a brand value of $3,750bn (£2,870bn) up from $3,129bn (£2,395bn) last year.
JCB employs around 12,000 people on four continents and sells products in 150 countries through 2,000 dealer depot locations.

Lomond Plant’s joint managing director, Ross Easton said: “We always choose JCB for the value, parts availability from the JCB World Parts Centre and the continual superb service from our dealer, Scot JCB.
“In addition to those factors, the enhanced operator comfort and robust design really stood out on the new X Series.”
He concluded: “We’ve had some great reviews on the machine from operators saying it’s by far the best tracked excavator produced by JCB in terms of cab layout and comfort – and also the performance and control of the machine has hugely improved.”
