A team of supply chain professionals from food manufacturing giant Kraft Foods have taken the lead in online heats for the supply chain skills competition run by logistics consultancy Scala.
The Fresh Connection competition pits the skills of supply chain professionals from across the UKs manufacturing, transport and logistics sectors, against one another in tests of innovation, budget management and sustainability.
The first round, judged on the ability to prove the greatest return on investment following a set challenge saw the Kraft team storm ahead of competitors. Kraft achieved an impressive 2.3% ROI.
Kraft Foods, which owns UK-based confectioner Cadbury, won the Supply Chain Champion title in 2010 and this year it hopes to regain the crown from food manufacturing peer, Mars.
