Show us your heroes of UK manufacturing in the EEF Photography Competition 2011 says Kathy Riley, Awards Director at EEF. £5000 of Canon photo equipment is up for grabs.
It’s not often you get the chance to change the way people view manufacturing. But by entering the EEF Photography Competition you have the opportunity to show the world your manufacturing heroes and win some fantastic prizes.
At EEF, we’re on the hunt for today’s heroes of modern UK manufacturing, depicted through a set of new images taken by professional and amateur photographers of all ages.
We are working every day to help secure the future for UK manufacturing. A large part of the success of our industry is wrapped up in how people view manufacturing, and what they think about it. We see the boldness and brilliance of manufacturers, our members, every day, and we want this to be recognised by the rest of the UK and beyond.
We want to see the heroes of modern UK manufacturing captured and celebrated.
The EEF Photography Competition aims to inspire a new public perception of a modern UK manufacturing industry by capturing the industry’s ingenuity, creativity, technology and pride through inspiring photography.
The competition is supported by government, and the winning photographs will be displayed at BIS offices in Westminster and at EEF offices across the UK.
Last year’s competition winners have gained UK-wide exposure, featuring on the front covers of magazines like The Manufacturer, and also in local newspapers and online articles across England, Scotland and Wales.
We simply want to see the best images of modern manufacturing – everything from the talented technicians in the lab, to the skilled craftsmen and women on the shopfloor. The winning photographs could be captured at the largest state-of-the-art facilities to the smallest, smartest start-ups.
We’re seeking the best images of the modern manufacturing supply chain in action. If you are part of the industry, they might be taken by keen amateur photographers in your own workforce, your apprentices or visiting students. We also want the best professional images you may have had taken by a professional photographer.
And you don’t have to be a part of the manufacturing sector to enter. Our photography competition is free to enter and open to everyone – professionals and amateurs of all ages. Enter the competition free of charge by October 31, to win up to £5000 in Canon photography equipment.
Along with our partner Canon, this year we also welcome our new headline partner Lombard, one of the UK’s leading, and most experienced providers of asset finance.
The competition will be judged by esteemed members of the UK photography community, including the Guild of Photographers, The Manufacturer, The Digital Asset Lab, and the ERA Foundation. The winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner held in London in January, 2012.
