The Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit 2021 will take place in Liverpool on 10-11 November, where key figures from the sector will get together to discuss the issues and pressures facing the whole industry.
The past year’s exceptional operational challenges have put manufacturers to the test. Some successfully maintained operations, while others struggled with supply shortages, worker safety, and dramatic spikes and dips in demand.
A key factor that differentiated the companies that adapted and flourished, was their use of Industry 4.0 digital technologies such as AI and Machine Learning, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), cloud computing, advanced analytics, digital twins and AR/VR.
A few of the speakers – from left to right: Sarah Black Smith, Head of Factory Operations, Siemens; Graham Leadbetter, Head of Operations – Manufacturing Engineering, BAE Systems; Dale Crow, Electricity & Automation Engineering Lead, Nestle R&D; Rashitha Jayasekara, Chief of Digital Manufacturing, Rolls Royce; Andrew Caroll, Manufacturing Systems Manager, Rotork
The Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit, now in its 14th year, is an integral part of Digital Manufacturing Week and Smart Factory Expo.
It will bring senior manufacturing executives together from across the manufacturing sector, to talk about sustainable growth and innovation in their businesses in an interactive conference format with roundtable discussion groups, keynote presentations and panel discussions.
Confirmed round table discussion leaders include senior representatives from organisations such as Airbus Defence and Space, Rolls Royce, BAE Systems, Dyson, McLaren Automotive, Rotork, Nestle, Firmenich, Muntons, Bimbo, Glen Dimplex and Jaguar Land Rover.
Speakers corner – highlighting some of this year’s speakers
Andrew Wall, Head of Technical Data at Airbus Defence and Space is looking forward to sharing his thoughts on the Extended Enterprise and calibrating his thinking and experience with others, especially in light of the fact that a large percentage of overspend is in the supply chain and due to late or misunderstandings of design information intent. Can we overcome it with the Digital Era?
Daniel Smale, Head of Continuous Improvement at Gousto. Real time data analytics is important to Daniel as is understanding how their product line is performing at any given time. Daniel also works hard to find out how to develop synergy and interaction between people and partially automated processes.
Carolina Delgado, Head of Operations at Aerotron Composites is interested in discussing challenges including attracting talent, developing and building skills and making sure time is put aside for training and upskilling.
Steve Miller, Manufacturing Supply Chain Director at Muntons is looking forward to discussing implementing a continuous improvement mindset ‘what are we going to do better today than we did yesterday?’ and challenging everything every day.
Trevor Newman, Manufacturing Cluster Director at Firmenich is keen to engage with his peers on the topic of leadership throughout the supply chain and how to engage and motivate people.
