Metrology equipment company Renishaw plc has appointed Carol Chesney as a non-executive director. A chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen, Ms Chesney has been secretary of Halma plc since 1998, having previously been the group financial controller, joining the company in 1995.
Ms Chesney took over as chair of the Audit Committee from Terry Garthwaite who, along with David Snowden, stepped down from the board. They both joined the board in 2003.
She will also sit on the Remuneration Committee and Nomination Committee.
David Grant, an existing non-executive director of the company, was appointed as chair of the Remuneration Committee (the title Mr Snowden previously held).
Sir David McMurtry, Renishaw chairman and chief executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome Carol Chesney to the board. With her extensive experience in industry in finance and company secretarial functions, she will be a valuable addition to the company’s resources at board level.”
