Family-owned Kalsi Plastics is expexting to take on between 15 and 20 more staff this year after developing a new 80,000 sqft site in Sparkhill amid plans to increase manufacturing output
According to the business, fit out works are currently being carried out at the premises and it will be fully operational by the early summer thanks to funding from Barclays.
Established in 1993 and is owned by Sohan, Harbans and Kulwant Kalsi, the brothers have grown the business supplying wholesale and trade plastic building and rainwater products to the construction industry.
Over the past ten years sales have grown to in excess of £30 million.
Director, Harbans Kalsi commented: “We identified the need to acquire additional premises that would allow us to increase our manufacturing capacity.
“The development of this site offers us that capability and will enable us to develop our business further.”
Andy Perry, relationship director at Barclays in Birmingham, added: “We have enjoyed a relationship with Kalsi Plastics for over twenty years and I’m pleased we have been able to support them in the next phase of their development.
“The new premises will accommodate several new extrusion lines representing further major investment which are funded by Barclays Asset Finance with a £3.5 million funding line to enable the business to keep up with production demands.”
