Awarding body EAL confirms that Level 1 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations (QCF) (501/0274/6) will also be subjected to national standards review.
National Occupational Standards, or NOS, are currently being reviewed for the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations (QCF) (500/9836/6).
Engineering qualifications body EAL has also confirmed that the Level 1 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations (QCF) (501/0274/6) will be subjected to NOS review.
Both qualifications are now being amended and will have new qualification numbers in the future. Changes have been made as a result of industry feedback to Semta, the sector skills council for manufacturing and engineering.
EAL has said that, until further notice, companies can continue to register on the existing qualification(s) and are not required to undertake any action.
The new qualifications will not come into effect until Semta has confirmed that they are included within the applicable Apprenticeship Frameworks.
EAL says that in preparation for the launch of the new qualifications it will add the new qualification to training providers’ remits automatically. Further updates and information will be sent by Spotlight, available on its website.
