Roemheld launches new low pressure hydraulic clamping range

Posted on 11 Oct 2012 by Tim Brown

Roemheld has launched a new range of low pressure hydraulic clamping elements that are specifically designed for use with machine tool hydraulics without the need for intensive hydraulic pressure.

The range, which was launched to the UK at MACH 2012, covers hinge clamps, swing clamps and work supports.  The entire range of these new hydraulic clamping elements offers high clamping or retention forces at low pressure.  All operate at 70 bar pressure and are designed to offer short clamping times.  The clamping elements are also compact so ideal for use when space is at a premium and all are available with position monitoring if required. The entire range is fitted with metallic wiper seals to reduce maintenance and increase durability.

The kinematics of the Roemheld low pressure hinge clamp has been designed so that no side loads enter into the workpiece. Position monitoring is available in both electrical and pneumatic versions.

The double acting, low pressure hydraulic swing clamp is available in four sizes and also comes with optional position monitoring.

The work supports within the range are made with corrosion-free internal parts. The threaded body design also offers space saving opportunities for fixture designers.
