Leading entrepreneurs working with the Business is GREAT campaign have stressed the importance of businesses sharing their experiences, hints and tips. In response, the Business is GREAT Britain campaign is running a ‘pass it on’ activity throughout March, designed to encourage businesses to share their pearl of business wisdom with the wider business community.
Brandauer, a precision stamping specialist based in Birmingham, which is using the Business Growth Service and UKTI to internationally market its website, has now passed the advice baton onto Really Useful Products in Normanton, West Yorkshire. They will be highlighting their advice across Twitter and LinkedIn.
Rowan Crozier, CEO of Brandauer, commented: “We are over 153 years-old as a business, but we have had to evolve massively in the last decade to maintain our position as a global manufacturing specialist.”
“This has involved investment in machinery, the launch of a new special products division and continuous development of existing staff and new apprentices. Our advice to other small businesses would be to understand what value you add to your customers and try to make the impossible component possible.”
He continued: “Being able to pass on this valuable piece of advice as part of the Business is GREAT campaign is fantastic. Here we join 33 other small businesses across the country highlighting their top tips for business growth, and we feel honoured to have been chosen to share our experiences with our peers.
Brandauer, which employs 56 people and supplies millions of precision components to China and the US every week, is supporting the campaign to encourage other businesses in the UK to do the same.
All 34 businesses involved in the Guide have received Government support from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills or UK Trade & Investment, from help with exporting to new markets, tax relief for innovation all the way to hiring apprentices. This month, the campaign highlights the benefits that sharing good advice can bring and the Government support available for small businesses to help them grow.
The activity will culminate at a business event held at Gatwick Airport on March 23, where small business owners, entrepreneurs and industry experts will come together to learn more about international growth and export opportunities.
Business Minister Matthew Hancock said: “Coming from a small business background I understand how important it is to learn from failure – as well as success. Making sure that every small business can access the advice and support they need is an important part of our plan to make Britain the best place in the world to start and grow a business.”
