P.C. Campana, based in Lorain, Ohio, is set to invest $3.43 million to relocate two of its manufacturing lines into two existing buildings at the Port of Vicksburg over the next three years.

The move is expected to create 17 new jobs within five years, providing a significant boost to the local economy.

P.C. Campana, Inc. CEO Pat Campana Jr. emphasised the company’s commitment to its roots and community partnerships, stating: “As a family-owned, American company, we have always believed that strong partnerships and local presence matter.”

“Expanding into Vicksburg allows us to better serve steelmakers across the southern United States with faster response times, reduced freight costs, and the same dependable products and service we have delivered since 1969,” Campana added in a statement. “We are excited to become part of the Vicksburg community and to build long-term relationships that support both the steel industry and the region’s continued growth.”

P.C. Campana specialises in producing alloyed cored wire, cored wire feeders, and a range of metal-cutting products that are widely used in the steel manufacturing industry. The company has built a reputation over decades for providing reliable products and service to steelmakers across the country, and this expansion represents a strategic move to strengthen its presence in the southern U.S. market.

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) confirmed that it will be supporting the project through its Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, programme, which aims to encourage industrial investment and job creation in the state.

Governor Tate Reeves welcomed the announcement, highlighting its significance for both Vicksburg and Mississippi as a whole. “This latest investment in the River City is another clear sign that our momentum continues strong across the state,” Reeves said. “When companies choose Mississippi, they know they’re getting a world-class workforce and communities that are ready to help them succeed — all in one of the best states in the nation for business. Industrial investments like this sustain families for generations and keep our economy competitive and moving forward.”

Vicksburg Mayor Willis Thompson also expressed his support for the company’s expansion, stating that the city “is open for business, and through our economic development partnerships, we stand ready to support companies as they grow and succeed right here in Vicksburg.”

The project underlines the city’s growing appeal as a hub for industrial development, combining a strategic location with a skilled workforce and a welcoming business environment. For P.C. Campana, it represents an important step in extending its reach while maintaining the high standards and personal approach that have defined the company for more than half a century.
