Sundolitt Ltd, the UK division of Sunde AS is opening a new 59,000 sq. ft. purpose-built manufacturing factory in Corby early next year for the production of EPS construction products.

As Europe’s Leading Expanded (EPS) and Extruded (XPS) Polystyrene manufacturer, this new development is the group’s largest single investment in the UK, adding significant production capacity to our key sectors within the construction, housebuilding and civil engineering markets. The new EPS factory has relocated from Gateshead where it has been since 2001 but will now be one of the most advanced production facilities in the EPS construction industry.

The significant investment emphasises both the confidence in the UK market from the Sunde Group and the quality of the production facilities to develop our UK proposal. Bertil Sunde, the Sunde Group Vice-President, says “we are committed to the long-term strategic development of Sundolitt Ltd in the UK market. This investment will enhance our market perception as a leading European Expanded Polystyrene supplier.”

Expanded (EPS) is a lightweight insulant with applications in thermal insulation for construction, and structural blocks for civil engineering. Colin Morrow, UK General Manager, says “EPS and XPS are site tough insulation materials that repels water whilst maintaining its strength and thermal performance”.
