Countdown to next week’s The Manufacturer Week of Excellence

WIth less than a week to go, The Manufacturer’s Week of Excellence is fast approaching and is set to bring you three days of events from November 25 to 27 at the ICC in Birmingham.

As TM’s flagship event and the largest of its kind in the UK, the festivities will be centred around the The Manufacturer Directors’ Conference (TMDC), which will focus on the drive for continued growth in the year ahead. Complemented by inspirational industry figures, key government members and leading academics who will discuss the trends and influences that are shaping the future of manufacturing.

The Manufacturer Week of Excellence will kick off next week on November 25 with a factory tour of Vaillant Group, an international family-owned company with a heritage of 140 years in providing customers with energy-saving and easy to operate solutions for heating, hot water and renewables. This factory tour will highlight the company’s award winning sustainability strategy S.E.E.D.S and visible VPS workshops, which promote ongoing reduction of waste.

The Conference (TMDC), which begins on the morning of the 26th and runs over two days, will have a varied and exciting range of topics that will appeal to all sectors of the manufacturing industry including innovation and technology, reshoring, essential skills, the future of British manufacturing, growth and talks and catch ups with the winners from last year’s awards.

The launch of TM’s first Top 100 list of movers, shakers, innovators, and next generation in UK manufacturing. Sponsored by Lloyds, hundreds of nominations will be announced at a drinks reception on the evening of the 26th.

On the night of the 27th, the ICC will be transformed for a night of glitz as we invite you to join in celebrating the excellence of UK manufacturing at The Manufacturer of the Year annual awards dinner.

Categories of the awards include Leadership and Strategy, Innovation and Design, People and Skills, ICT in Manufacturing, Manufacturing in Action, Supply Chain Excellence, Small Sized Enterprise of the Year, Sustainable Manufacturing, Through-Life Engineering Services, Exporter of the Year, World Class Manufacturing, Medium Sized Enterprise of the Year, Young Manufacturer of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.

The awards is judged by an exciting panel of industry experts including Steve Whittle of Rolls Royce, Gordon Macrae of Gripple, David Clark of the ERA Foundation, Jan Ward of Corrothem International, Colin Larkin of New Holland International, Peter Watkins of GKN Land Systems, Chris Owen of Industry Forum, Carl Perrin of IAME, Martin Clocherty of Hayward Tyler, Alan Curtis and Alistair Keddie of WMG, George Edwards of Gas-Sense, Rachael Wignall of SAICA Pack, George Kessler of Kessler International, Nigel Davies of Muntons and Mark Jolly of Cranfield University, with many more to be announced. The evening also includes a special surprise guest speaker.
