Britain’s car makers performed well in November as manufacturing output rose 9.3%.
In November 150,084 cars were built, with the demand from overseas markets helping to boost that number.
The demand from abroad led to a 10.8% increase in the month of the production of cars to be exported.

The latest figure put the year-to-date numbers 3.8% ahead of the same period of 2014, with 1,472,835 cars produced.
According to the latest data, 80.3% of car production for the month was for foreign markets, a 1.1% increase on the amount of cars made for export in November 2014.
120, 484 of the 150,084 total, are to be exported, with 29,600 to remain in the country for the domestic market, nearly a 3% increase compared to the amount of cars produced for the domestic market over the same period last year.
With the total amount of cars currently manufactured this year at 1.47m it is very likely that the automotive sector will produce more than the 1.53m produced during 2014.
SMMT chief executive, Mike Hawes commented: “November’s manufacturing gains are encouraging, and put the car industry in a strong position with one month left in the year.
“Particularly pleasing is the recent pick-up in export production, which is proof that despite challenges in some global markets, the UK continues to build cars that appeal to consumers across the world.”
