Sheet metal manufacturer, Malton Laser, has enhanced its fabrication services by investing in a new state-of-the-art robotic welder.
Due to an increased demand for precision welding projects, the company has invested in a two-station Panasonic Tawers MAG 1600WG Welding Robot System, which will increase the company’s welding capacity by up to 30%.
The robotic welder is an addition in the company’s fabrication department, where it will undertake jobs for a number of high-profile clients, initially completing projects for one of the UK’s leading boiler manufacturers.
The machine can reportedly weld four times faster than current methods, speeding up and streamlining production, while reducing client lead times.
The automated nature of the new equipment also means that engineers in Malton Laser’s fabrication department will have the capacity to focus their expertise on other areas of the business.
Charles Corner, managing director of Malton Laser, explained: “With the ability to increase capacity by up to 30%, the investment is sure to assist us in continuing to grow to become one of the leading sheet metal manufacturers in the industry.
“Members of the Malton Laser team have been selected for specialist training to ensure the welder is in capable hands and performing to the best of its ability, producing high-quality weld finishes for our customers’ products.
“As we strive to consistently provide first-class results for our clientele, we are dedicated to keeping up with the latest developments in automation technology, and utilising it to become leaders in our field.”
Malton Laser specialises in providing a full sheet metalwork service, from laser cutting and pressing to fabricating, powder coating and assembly.
