ADS, the UK trade association for the aerospace, defence, security and space, has announced the appointment of Kata Escott, UK Managing Director and Head of Country at Airbus Defence and Space, as its new Vice President for Space.
Kata brings extensive industry experience to the ADS Board, along with a deep understanding of the vital collaboration between government and industry in strengthening the UK’s space sector.
ADS president David Lockwood welcomed the appointment:“I am delighted to welcome Kata to the ADS Board. Her expertise, strategic insight, and deep industry knowledge will be instrumental as we continue to drive the growth and success of the UK’s space sector.
“With over 40% of our nearly 1500 members active in space, we are acutely aware of the sector’s critical role in global security vast potential and the pressing need to unlock new opportunities to maximise UK advantage in an increasingly competitive space environment.”

In March 2025, ADS announced a strategic partnership to enhance Space-Comm Expo and ensure strategic alignment on the space industry’s needs from the event.
