Everything you need to know about Digital Manufacturing Week

Posted on 25 Oct 2021 by Lanna Deamer

Produced by The Manufacturer magazine, Digital Manufacturing Week (DMW) is taking place from 8-12 November. It is a national festival of advanced manufacturing which every year attracts thousands of manufacturers, industry leaders, and technology providers.

Every aspect of the week celebrates excellence from expert speakers, industry-shaping influencers, delegates from the best manufacturers, and the brightest emerging talent. The event brings them together to help businesses at all stages of their Industry 4.0 development, arming them with real insights from the industry we have been at the heart of for over 25 years.

It is about learning, providing a showcase for the best of manufacturing, and celebrating successes. Our two awards programmes, The Manufacturer Top 100 and MX Awards, honour the talented individuals and companies that represent the top tier of the industry.

This year’s Digital Manufacturing Week will be particularly special as it will also play host to The Manufacturing Technology Centre’s (MTC) Digitalising Manufacturing Conference. The partnership will see these two huge dates in the manufacturing calendar combine to create one enormous value proposition for a voracious manufacturing audience.

Here we take a look at the events happening across the week.

Smart Factory Expo

Smart Factory Expo brings together all the technologies enabling the digital manufacturing revolution, creating a carefully curated shop window for manufacturers at all stages of their digital journey.

It is a showcase for the revolution in technology, process and thinking behind Industry 4.0. Smart Factory Expo features nine content theatres and ten visitor zones, focused on different digital manufacturing opportunities and featuring world class presentations and exhibitors, alongside Innovation Alley – a dedicated startup corridor brimming with entrepreneurial energy.

A full calendar of activity including solution theatres with free-to-attend presentations, demonstrations and networking spaces, all located within the exhibition hall, means visitors can research and purchase the latest technologies transforming manufacturing, network with peers and gain invaluable insights from industry leaders, all in one place.

Manufacturing Leader’s Summit

The Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit 2021 will take place in Liverpool on 10th-11th November, where key figures from the sector will get together to discuss the issues and pressures facing the whole industry.

It will bring senior manufacturing executives together from across the manufacturing sector, to talk about sustainable growth and innovation in their businesses in an interactive conference format with roundtable discussion groups, keynote presentations and panel discussions.

The interactive conference format revolves around a series of intimate roundtable discussions, enabling you to sit next to your peers and topic experts and have your questions answered first-hand. This isn’t about passively listening to hours of keynotes – you’ll sit down face-to- face with leaders like you to share challenges and collaboratively develop solutions.

Choose which discussion tables to join for each 60-minute discussion – enabling you to participate in four different discussions during the two days and have the conversations that matter most to you. Hear from your industry peers how they’re achieving step changes in productivity.

Confirmed round table discussion leaders include senior representatives from organisations such as Airbus Defence and Space, Rolls Royce, BAE Systems, Dyson, McLaren Automotive, Rotork, Nestle, Firmenich, Muntons, Bimbo, Glen Dimplex and Jaguar Land Rover.
