Mars has been recognised as the ‘UK’s Most Family Friendly Company’ in the 2025 Flexa100 list while also earning recognition as the second most pet-friendly company in the country.
This latest achievement underscores Mars UK’s ongoing commitment to fostering a truly inclusive, flexible, and pet-friendly work environment – ensuring its Associates, whether parents or pet-parents, feel fully supported in balancing work and life.
The report evaluates companies based on their commitment to flexible working. This year’s impressive outcome is a culmination of Flexa’s rigorous assessment, based on an internal, anonymous survey sent to Mars UK Associates, asking for feedback on the company’s flexible working practices.
Flexa’s findings are calculated using a comprehensive analysis of key indicators, including location, hours, benefits, senior leadership, trust, autonomy, and work-life balance. These data points are then combined with in-depth feedback from Associates, demonstrating that Mars UK’s efforts are being recognised from both within and outside the business.
The family-owned business is best known for its iconic brands including Ben’s Original™, EXTRA®, M&M’s®, SNICKERS®, PEDIGREE®, and WHISKAS. Beyond its brands, Mars takes immense pride in fostering a workplace culture that prioritises family, pets, and flexibility – from leading parental leave policies and hybrid working opportunities to pet-friendly offices and even ‘paw-ternity’ leave for new pet parents.
Adam Grant, General Manager, Mars Wrigley UKI said:“We are incredibly proud to be recognised as the UK’s Most Family-Friendly Company and the second most Pet-Friendly Company. At Mars, we know that supporting our Associates – whether that means giving parents more time with their families or ensuring pet-parents get the flexibility they need – ultimately creates a happier, more engaged, and more productive team. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to flexible and inclusive working, where everyone can feel valued and supported.”
With over 10,000 Associates across 10 sites in the UK, the company’s workforce includes marine biologists, chewing gum tasters, and rice buyers – all with the aim to bring Mars best-loved products to British homes.
In addition to these recognitions, Mars was also runner-up in several other categories, including Flexibility, Work-Life Balance and Career Progression.
